Rachel's case experience

Mesothelioma claim: While serving in the Merchant Navy, Rachel’s client was exposed to asbestos and subsequently diagnosed with mesothelioma. Rachel had to conduct extensive research because of the difficulties identifying insurers in Merchant Navy claims. After locating the insurer, Rachel secured a six figure settlement for the family of her client, who sadly died shortly before the case was resolved.

Asbestosis claim: After contracting asbestosis, Rachel’s client settled a claim on a provisional basis, so that it could reopened if his condition significantly deteriorated. Three years after the settlement, Rachel was instructed to launch a new claim after her client’s health worsened. Despite gathering medical evidence that supported the new claim a settlement was not offered. Rachel issued court proceedings, but secured an additional £20,000 on top of the original settlement amount for her client without the need for a trial.

Rachel’s former client said: “Every time I phoned with a query (Rachel) spoke to me with courtesy and care and put me at ease. I am happy with the letter I have just received explaining everything to me. Thank you very much for your service.”
