PCS member, Ms A, a Department of Work and Pensions employee, slipped awkwardly at work, suffering chronic regional pain syndrome as a result of her injuries. Virtually incapacitated, she was unable to work and needed help in looking after her baby and child. A relative had to come over from abroad to give her 24-hour care. Christalla took on her case and secured £3.6 million in compensation – one of the highest level of damages for chronic regional pain syndrome.

UNISON member, Mr F, suffered brain damage, leaving him in a coma for several days, when he was hit by a car. UNISON member, Mr P, was cycling when a car hit him, resulting in severe and traumatic injury to his brain. Mr P spent seven days in intensive care where he had a craniotomy and a lobectomy. H lost his sense of smell and taste and developed epilepsy as a result of his injuries. Christalla worked for him and secured compensation award of £165,000.
