Mesothelioma claims

Thompsons established the first ever successful case for asbestos disease compensation in 1972, and has been involved in every major test case since.

Each year, around 2,500 people are diagnosed with mesothelioma (sometimes referred to as ‘meso’), a fatal form of cancer which is caused by asbestos.

Mesothelioma takes a long time to develop, often 40 years or more for symptoms to show. It is a devastating reminder of the UK’s legacy of asbestos. If you’ve been diagnosed with mesothelioma and would like to make a compensation claim, your union legal service is here to help.

Why you should trust Thompsons Solicitors with your mesothelioma claim

“Thompsons were fantastic. They sat down with me and went through my employment history in detail to help work out exactly when I had been in contact with asbestos and that meant I could make a compensation claim.” Charlie, trade union member

Thompsons Solicitors is a member of the Mesothelioma UK Legal Panel, which recognises the firm’s significant expertise in fighting for the rights of asbestos victims.

We’ve signed the Mesothelioma Patient Charter which promotes the highest standards of care and legal advice for mesothelioma patients and their families. It calls on the government and employers to maximise services, funding, safety and prevention to protect and support those who have been exposed to asbestos.

We have specialist asbestos lawyers who are wholly committed to helping trade union members and their families to bring cases for compensation after a mesothelioma diagnosis.

Our dedicated lawyers fight hard and with compassion to bring cases to a swift and successful conclusion, signposting victims to sources of further specialist care and support.

We have long track record, second to none, of tracing employers and insurance companies and holding them to account on behalf of recently-diagnosed trade union members, or the families who have lost loved ones due to mesothelioma in the last three years.
