Based at Thompsons Solicitors' Newcastle office, Helen Cornforth is a lawyer in the highly-respected clinical negligence team. Having begun her legal career at 19 working in a high-street firm, she went on to study and then qualify as a solicitor more than 15 years ago.
Helen initially focused on accident claims and disease work, but progressed to work on high-value complex accident cases and clinical negligence claims. Having specialised in clinical negligence work since joining Thompsons in 2020, she draws on a wealth of experience to provide exceptional results and client experience.
Helen’s cases includes claims in a number of areas within clinical negligence, such as delayed diagnoses and surgical errors, to obstetric failures and dental negligence.
Helen takes a practical hands on approach to every one of her cases, investigating and pursuing each of them to conclusion with a focus on securing not only the best in damages, but also rehabilitation wherever possible. She provides exceptional client care and ensures that she keeps her clients fully informed throughout the duration of their claim.
Helen takes great pride in working for Thompsons and finds it rewarding to be part of a unique social justice law firm whose priority is to stand up for those who need it.
In her spare time, Helen enjoys cycling and jogging with her family, as well as walking and kayaking in the Lake District.
