Amanda is a senior solicitor and Thompsons’ Solicitors Partner, handling personal injury cases, covering Yorkshire and Humberside, based in the firm’s Leeds office.

With 23 years’ experience, specialising in claims for injury caused by accidents at work, road traffic accidents, assaults, public liability and criminal injury compensation claims, Amanda uses her legal skills to fight for the rights of her trade union clients.

Many of her clients will have orthopaedic, neurological or multiple injuries that can be devastating and life-changing. With a reputation for being professional, efficient and sensitive, Amanda makes sure to obtain the best medical advice and opinions, particularly on the long-term impact of her clients’ injuries. Guiding them through the legal process and keeping them informed throughout, Amanda is a determined and successful litigator.

Amanda has good links with trade unions in her region, attending branch meetings and events to speak about Thompsons’ work on behalf of trade union members.

When Martyn Clarke, a teacher, was assaulted by a pupil leading to his retirement from work, Amanda took up the case and won at Hull County Court.  Subsequently, following the Hull City Council appealing the decision, Amanda won at the Court of Appeal where the decision was upheld.
