KIM’S CASE EXPERIENCE
Kim acted for a husband whose deceased wife used to wash his overalls from his job as a scaffolder in numerous refineries inWest Wales. His wife had sadly died from mesothelioma prior to us being instructed and so we had no evidence from her and had to undertake detailed investigations in order to obtain sufficient evidence to bring the claim. The claim concluded successfully against the client’s husband former employers with an award of a five figure sum.
Kim’s client who had died of mesothelioma had come into contact with asbestos during the course of her work as a secretary in Aston University. The case was complex given the nature of the job and the low levels of asbestos involved but Kim was able to bring the claim to a successful six figure sum conclusion.
Kim represented two mesothelioma victims exposed to asbestos during renovation work whilst working in one of BT’s offices in the Coryton area of Cardiff. Mr C worked in the post room and was diagnosed aged 47 and Mrs D who was diagnosed in her 70’s worked as a secretary. Both cases were successfully concluded for substantial damages.
A former kitchen assistant who worked for over 10 years in a school in Birmingham and was in her 70s when she was diagnosed with mesothelioma came to Kim after seeing a TV interview about another kitchen assistant who had been exposed to asbestos. The claim was vigorously defended by the defendant Birmingham City Council and ended up in the High Court in London where, having heard from lay witnesses and expert engineers, the judge found in favour of Kim’s client and significant damages.
“A big Thank you to Amanda, Emily and Kim for all the help they have given to me to understand the severity of the claim, the outcome of which will give security to myself and my sons, nothing will bring back my husband but with all of the help from yourselves we can move on. We as a family, would certainly recommend your company. Once again, thank you all. You were always there at the end of the phone when I needed assistance.”
“Every member of the team at Thompsons have exceeded our expectations. At every stage of process, I have felt informed and confident in their abilities.
