David Coulthard has over 35 years’ experience, working exclusively for Trade Unions and their members. He recently became Unit Manager for the Multi-track accident and disease unit, covering the whole of South West and Wales.

His focus is helping the unit run smoothly and efficiently. The role of Unit Manager is challenging, but rewarding. He aims to guide the unit to work hard and tirelessly for trade unions and their members.

Alongside being Unit Manager, David also handles a case load, involving industrial diseases. He looks after clients who have developed conditions such as Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, noise induced hearing loss and dermatitis, through exposure at work.

David enjoys works for Thompsons because Thompsons aims to help those who could not obtain justice themselves, and he too adheres to his own, and the firm's socialist values.


David is predominantly an industrial disease lawyer. He has represented numerous employees of two boat builders for the super-rich in claims for Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome. He also has been involved in group litigation against what was British Steel for 60 employees for Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome the claims went to the Court of Appeal.
