Dimuna represents clients across Wales and the South West as part of the Cardiff office’s personal injury and industrial disease teams.

She runs a caseload that covers a variety of accidents at work, exposure to harmful substances at work, and cases involving public liability. She has represented clients making claims for work-related stress, bullying and harassment, hand arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), work-related neck and upper limb disorders (WRULD), respiratory illnesses, orthopaedic injuries, psychological injuries, hearing loss, and various health issues caused by infringements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).

Dimuna’s key focus is ensuring her clients understand and feel comfortable with the claims process understanding what Thompsons is doing for them and why. For Dimuna, the most rewarding aspect of working for Thompsons is providing trade union members with a gold standard free legal advice service that ensures they keep 100% of their compensation.

Outside of work she spends time with her loved ones and keeps active by going to the gym and for long walks in the countryside. She also enjoys going to concerts and listening to music.

CASE EXPERIENCE

Dimuna acted for a Unite member who worked as a piling operative, and developed (HAVS) after using vibrating tools at work, including jack hammers, disc cutters and angle grinders, for several hours at a time. The defendant denied liability and court proceedings were issued, but the case settled before going to trial.

TESTIMONIALS

“It gives me great pleasure to be able to say that this process has come to a conclusion! I have received the cheque for full & final settlement of my claim that you have successfully secured for me. Whilst the financial element of the claim is satisfying to receive, I take more comfort from knowing I no longer have to relive that awful accident, to disclose personal information & to undertake any further medical intervention by strangers. I’d like to send my heartfelt thanks to you for everything that you have done to assist me during this process. The sympathy & empathy that you have shown me whilst I have had to disclose personal & intimate information was much appreciated. There were times when I wanted to stop the process as I found it difficult to share such personal matters, however your kind & considerate approach enabled me to stay strong & focused, and to engage in the steps needed to be taken to reach the successful conclusion of my case. Should I ever find myself in a position whereby I need legal support for a workplace matter, I would absolutely have no hesitation in seeking you out to assist me. It has been an absolute pleasure having your expertise and support during the past few years, and I shall be eternally grateful for such. I truly wish you all the very best for your future,” – a Unite member.
