Former patients of Manu Nair urged to submit a claim before Alternative Dispute Resolution deadline23 August 2016
The deadline to start a medical negligence claim against Mr Nair is 30 September
Patients of former surgeon, Manu Nair, are being encouraged to contact Thompsons Solicitors to make a medical negligence claim before the deadline for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) protocol ends in September.
Negotiations with Mr Nair’s legal representatives will come to a close on 30 September. People who make a claim before this date will be eligible for ADR protocol, which aims to hear claims within 30 weeks of allocation and complete the final hearing in less than a day.
After the deadline, patients will still have up to three years after the negligence took place to start a claim, but they may not be able to use the fast track procedure.
Mr Nair was suspended from practice at Solihull Hospital, Spire Hospital Parkway and Heartlands Hospital in April 2014 following concerns by the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust that he conducted radical and unapproved procedures on 170 men with prostate cancer.
Thompsons Solicitors’ specialist medical negligence team is acting on behalf of multiple victims affected by his malpractice, and is now urging other patients to get in touch.
Mr Nair worked in the same hospitals as Ian Paterson, a disgraced breast surgeon, who put patients’ lives at risk by using unapproved techniques and performing unnecessary operations.
