More than 40 years on, the call for truth, accountability and justice remains as strong as ever. The anniversary is an important moment to remember what happened, to stand with those affected, and to recognise the ongoing fight for answers. 

At Thompsons, we’ve long stood alongside working people and their unions when they’re treated unfairly. We’re proud to represent the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) in the ongoing Inquiry, supporting their campaign for accountability and clarity about what took place. 

For many, this isn’t just history. It continues to have a real impact today. That’s why the push for justice matters – not just for those directly affected, but for fairness and trust in the system as a whole.
