An end to Disputes?
Following a comprehensive review of the dispute resolution system over the last year or so, the Government has now published a consultation paper asking for views on a number of issues.
These include:
- extending the definition of a 'relevant advisor' who can sign off compromise agreements
changes to the current statutory regime of interest accruing on unpaid tribunal awards
broader powers for tribunals to make recommendations in discrimination cases
tribunal procedure for making decisions without a hearing in a limited number of jurisdictions
adding holiday pay to the list of jurisdictions normally heard by an employment judge sitting alone
transitional arrangements for the new regime
The closing date for submissions is 26 September.
