Employment tribunals accepted just over 151,000 claims in 2008/09, a decrease of 20 per cent on the year before, according to the latest figures by the Tribunal Service.

Of no benefit

The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations state that members are entitled to additional benefits if they can show they are “permanently incapable” of doing their job.

Subject or object

Regulation 4 (9) of the 2006 Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE) protects employees against dismissal if the transfer involves a “substantial change in working conditions”.
