Thompsons Solicitors is celebrating overwhelmingly positive feedback from the working people it helped in 2016.

The law firm, which only acts for the injured and mistreated and never for insurers or employers, received excellent feedback in a UNISON members’ survey conducted during the year.

Every member it represented in an employment law case in 2016 gave positive feedback for the support they got. There was similarly high praise from those who received criminal law and professional misconduct advice for work-related matters, as well as those it helped with personal injury claims.

“We are immensely proud to work in partnership with UNISON and of the work we do for men and women working in public services across the country who, too often, suffer injustice,” said Tom Jones, head of policy at Thompsons Solicitors.

“These results are excellent and reflect the value of the work we do for UNISON members.”

UNISON has more than 1.3 million members. They include full and part-time staff who provide public services, whether they are employed in the public or private sector.

As part of their membership, members and their families can access free and comprehensive legal advice from Thompsons. The service also extends to the families of members with non-work related injuries. During the past 12 months, the legal team has provided expert advice and representation to hundreds of members whose rights have been abused or ignored, and has helped secure tens of millions of pounds in compensation.

“Fighting for the rights of the injured and mistreated is written into our founding documents and as long as there is injustice, we will continue to ensure workers are fairly represented and that if they are subject to disciplinary proceedings, that those processes are transparent and fair,” said Mr Jones.
