The Right to be Informed You Can Join a Trade Union
The ERA 2025 expands the list of required particulars that employers must give to their employees to include an explicit statement that workers have the right to join a trade union. The specific content and form of this statement and the obligations placed on employers in terms of when and how it should be provided will be set out in future secondary legislation. The government launched a consultation on how the duty to inform workers of their right to join a trade union should work in practice, which closed on 18 December 2025.Â
