Sophia is a chartered legal executive specialising in medical negligence claims for clients across the East Midlands. She is based at Thompsons’ Nottingham office.

Sophia has over 6 years’ experience handling a wide variety of clinical negligence cases for trade union members and their families. The claims she has dealt with range from orthopaedic injuries (fractures, tendon damage and surgical errors) to gynaecological injuries (perinatal tears, hysterectomy and ovarian cysts), and delayed lung, breast and skin cancer claims. Sophie has helped clients who have suffered the distress of perinatal death and been the victims of surgical errors resulting in appendicitis and bowel damage.

Although compensation can never make clients better or take away all of the trauma they have gone through, knowing that there has been financial recognition for what they have been through is a key driver for Sophia.

When not at work Sophia enjoys travelling, baking and escape rooms.

  • Secured £22,500 in compensation for a client who was left with permanent numbness on the left side of her tongue after a 10-month delay to repair a nerve that was damaged during a wisdom tooth removal.
  • Secured a settlement of £10,000 for a client who was misdiagnosed with a torn ligament and discharged from hospital when he was, in fact, suffering from a shoulder dislocation.
