Jackie is a senior lawyer in Thompsons’ national asbestos team, and she is based in the firm’s London office.

Jackie joined Thompsons in the highly-regarded asbestos disease team in 2014 and deals solely with asbestos-related disease claims. Her knowledge and expertise in the progress of asbestos-related diseases enable her to gain the best compensation for her clients. Her case-load includes claims for diseases such as pleural thickening, asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma.

A diagnosis of an asbestos-related illness can be traumatic and devastating for clients and their families. Jackie approaches them with compassionate professionalism, guiding them through the High Court process, visiting them at home, patiently explaining all the options, getting the best medical advice and negotiating interim payments.

Although Jackie aims to reach a settlement during the clients' lifetime, many cases can take time and continue after their death. Jackie’s sensitivity in dealing with bereaved family members and her care for their welfare is highly valued.

As a determined champion of the rights of her clients and their families, Jackie will doggedly pursue employers and insurance companies who deny liability and seek to shirk their responsibilities. As asbestos exposure usually manifests as a disease 40 to 50 years after exposure, tracking down companies that may be defunct or have been taken over, or their liability insurers, requires Jackie’s excellent investigative skills. Jackie never gives up.

Thompsons’ ethos of working only for individuals is what, Jackie says, allows her and colleagues to achieve a good outcome for clients as they always go the extra mile.

When not at work, Jackie likes to go to the theatre, and the cinema, socialise with friends, and spending time looking after her dog, Ruby.
