Given the widespread ignorance among employers and managers about the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), the TUC has published guidance for trade union negotiators to help them make the most of the legislation.
The 1970 Equal Pay Act says that if a woman is doing the same work as a man, she is entitled to be paid the same, unless her employer can objectively justify the difference.
Section 111 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 requires claimants to lodge their claim for unfair dismissal within three months of the effective date of termination.
