The government recently announced that although it still intends to extend statutory maternity and adoption leave and pay, it will not now do so by April 2009.
The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) says that it is unlawful discrimination for employers “to fail to make reasonable adjustments”.
The law says that employers have to consult with unions in the event of redundancies and provide them with certain information.
