Labour & European Law Review
22 February 2007
The TUC has calculated that 23 February 2007 is the day when the average person who does unpaid overtime starts earning for themselves.
In general, claimants have to have been working for their employer for at least a year to bring a claim of unfair dismissal.
The law says that if a worker wants to claim they have suffered a "detriment" (or disadvantage), they must do so within three months of the act (or failure to act) that they are complaining about.
