The government estimates that over one million adults will benefit from the increase in the National Minimum Wage (NMW) that came into effect last week. According to the TUC, 60 per cent of them will be women.
When a relevant transfer occurs under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Em-ployment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE), the affected employees become employed by the transferee from that time.
The Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) state that if a relevant transfer involves a “substantial change” in the working conditions of someone being transferred, they can claim automatic unfair dismissal.
