The UK has come last in an analysis of paid parental leave across 27 European countries, published earlier this week by the TUC.
The European equal treatment directive outlaws direct and indirect discrimination, except in certain circumstances, such as setting different ages for entitlement to benefits.
In order to succeed in a constructive dismissal case, claimants have to show that they resigned in response to a fundamental breach of contract by their employer.
