The TUC has calculated that 27 February 2009 is the day when the average person who does unpaid overtime starts earning for themselves.
Under article 7 of the Working Time Regulations 1998, workers are entitled to four weeks' paid annual leave.
The 2004 Information and Consultation Regulations require employers to start negotiating “as soon as is reasonably practicable” once they have received a “valid employee request”.
