Lois is the manager of Thompsons Solicitors’ personal injury unit in Leeds, which handles cases in the East of England, Yorkshire and Humberside.

Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1995, Lois has exclusively represented claimants who have suffered a range of personal injuries. With a comprehensive background in personal injury claims, Lois specialises in aiding claimants and their families who have suffered complex and life changing injuries, including significant orthopaedic trauma, amputation and traumatic brain injury.

Before becoming the personal injury unit manager, Lois developed considerable leadership and management skills in prior roles as a team leader and the manager of a department made up of 60 personal injury staff. Lois oversees highly-skilled teams of lawyers within four specialist work streams comprising of cases that involve serious life-changing injuries, asbestos-related injuries, accidents and industrial diseases. Lois ensures the unit delivers excellent legal services, exceptional client care and the maximum possible compensation for claimants by focusing on supporting as well as leading staff.

Lois has settled numerous cases in various settings over her career, predominantly at joint settlement meetings, but also attending hearings at the Royal Courts of Justice and other courts. Lois’ focus is on securing interim payments, rehabilitation and specialist case management for clients and their families whilst a case is progressing as well as optimising compensation for care packages, rehabilitation, accommodation and any future needs over the course of a client’s lifetime as part of the settlement award.
